Appeal: Walk away Cystic Fibrosis in Portland, OR

Campaign Start: April 19, 2006
Campaign End: May 20, 2006
Campaign Goal: $500.00

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today because my wife, Lindsay Krombein, and I need your help. My daughter, Ella, was diagnosed almost two years ago with Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening, incurable, genetic disease. I am asking for your help and support in our fight to save her life. This year I will be leading a team of “Ella’s Elite” at the Portland, Oregon Great Strides Walk, taking place on May 20th at Oaks Amusement Park. It will be a day full of fun and celebration for the whole family as we all work to beat this disease. For the first time in it’s 50 year history, the CF Foundation is actually experiencing a funding gap… they have more research grant proposals than they are able to fund. The path to finding a cure for CF is paved with numerous research opportunities – any one of which could have a profound impact on the lives of those with the disease. The only thing standing in the way of a cure is additional money to fund this life-saving research.

Last year Ella’s Elite had 54 walkers in six different cities, with just over 300 contributors, and we were able to raise just over $14,000! This year we have eleven different teams of Ella’s Elite across the country, and some lofty goals to beat.

I am writing to you today to enlist your help in this fight to raise funds and save lives. Please visit my fundraising web page by clicking on the link below where you will be able to join our team or make a secure, online donation quickly and easily. If you have time, please forward the link on to other brothers, your friends and family, even acquaintances… we discovered last year that sometimes the biggest help comes from the most unlikely of places. I can’t begin to tell you how much your support and contribution means to us. Ella is almost two-and-a-half now and is growing faster each day… please help us to give her, and the others like her, the quality of life and future they deserve.

If for some reason this link doesn’t work, please just copy and paste the web address into your web browser.

Thank you so much!
