"hey girls. I joined the nice mag on the net, and it makes me remember and say nice things about and to people. I wanted to thank you gals for always supporting me and for being my sisters. And even though I don't write as often as I ought to and as I'd like to, I still love you and miss you dearly. I've sent my thanks and love in alphabetical order, which means you're all equally important to me, and that means you're not the last in my heart zai, just on the list. Ditto to the rest."

"Thanks to everyone for posting your messages. This really is a great thing to witness.

"Some have sent in messages that are just too racy or too negative to post. While we appreciate your candor and honesty, we are trying to keep the tone of the Thank You postings as sunny as possible. Although we will post negative and biting messages (because you can't have nice without the not so nice), we have to draw the line at some obvious point. Examples of content that we will not post include (this list is not codified; it simply reflects common sense values) swear words, rants, overly sexual references, slander, libel and those depicting violence.

"We just wanted to get this out there. Keep the thank you messages coming in. The word we hear on the street is that people love logging in and reading them as a way to brighten their days. Your messages are providing a service, and for this, all of us are grateful.

“By the way, there must be an “Anti-Thank You Pages” site out there somewhere. If you know of one, let us know."

"Chris Nichols is one of the most dedicated people in the city of Los Angeles.

He works tirelessly as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Conservancy's Modern Committee to help keep them from tearing the historic Mid Century Modern landmarks down.

"Who cares? They're just buildings..." you might say. "There are homeless people and other issues that need more help."

A city that tears it's landmarks down is one that embraces a disposable attitude towards things and people.

What Chris has done for the city has so much more intrinsic value. The historic architecture of a city is more than "buildings." They symbolize our culture's attitude toward art and high ideals. They symbolize all that is good with mankind: his creative spirit. They symbolize the heart and soul of a city: it's attitude towards permanence, durability and basic caring. A city cannot survive without culture, creativity and caring.

And Chris Nichols has been one bright shining spirit upholding, supporting and saving that high art, that creative spirit, and that soul.

He proves that there still are angels in "La Ciudad de Los Angeles."
